Skilled Nursing
When you are in need of nursing care around the clock, Madison County Nursing Home may be the place for you. We have a team of skilled professionals in nursing, rehabilitation, social services, dietary and activities to meet your needs. When a new resident joins our facility, our dedicated team meets with them and develops a plan of individualized care to meet their specific needs. Family input is welcomed at these conferences. We will also monitor the person’s progress daily and meet for care conferences at least quarterly.
While you are here, our dedicated staff will help with all of the activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, grooming and toileting. We have nurses and CNAs on staff 24/7 for medication management and to provide basic care. We offer occupational, physical and speech therapies. We have consultants in pharmacy, dietary, medical records, social services and activities to help us ensure we are providing the quality care you expect and deserve.
For entertainment, social enjoyment and well-being we have an Activity Department that offers a wide variety of events every morning and afternoon. Also, if you feel like exercising, we have a fitness center to help keep you strong and active. Don’t forget our swimming pool and hot tub! Both are wheelchair accessible.
Alzheimer’s Unit
Dementia is a serious loss of cognitive ability in a previously unimpaired person and beyond what might be expected from normal aging. Alzheimer’s Disease is the most common form of dementia. Symptoms of dementia may be classified as either reversible or irreversible, depending on the origin of the disease. Less than 10% of cases of dementia are due to causes that can be reversed. However, with proper care and treatment, the functioning level of someone can be maintained or the decline can be slowed.
Madison County Nursing Home has responded to a growing need in memory care and in 2002 opened a 20-bed specialized Alzheimer’s/Dementia Unit. This unit provides a home-like atmosphere in a safe and secure environment for the dementia patient. We have specially trained CNAs and LPNs who understand the challenges of dementia and staff a 24/7 Nurses Station on the Unit. They ensure that medications are given properly and that the activities of daily living such as bathing, eating, and dressing are properly met. We have an established daily routine to help maintain a predictable schedule. Stimulating and dementia-appropriate activities are conducted daily to maintain social contact. Families are welcome to visit.
If you have a loved one who has dementia, and you are concerned for their safety and needs, and you would like the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your loved one will be respected and cared for in a secure environment, please contact us for a tour of Madison County Nursing Home.
