The mission of the Activities Department is to provide social interaction for our residents, as well as to stimulate their physical, emotional and mental health through a variety of activities. There are several group activities offered throughout the day, in addition to one-on-one activities.
A sample of some of our weekly activities include: bingo, devotion, arts and crafts, music, exercise, group discussions, food socials, current events and a variety of games.
Some of our monthly activities include: birthday celebrations, musical guest entertainers and manicures. We also plan community outings such as trips to the movies, sporting events, shopping, library, museums, restaurants, picnics, fishing trips, concerts and scenic drives.
During the spring and summer months our residents enjoy tending our vegetable garden and tasting some of the vegetables we have grown and picked. Residents also enjoy socializing at our gazebo and participating in various outdoor planned activities. We have a monthly Resident Council Meeting where we come up with new ideas for activities.
The goal of the Activities Department is to enhance the quality of life for each resident and promote positive feelings of productivity, in addition to motivating social interaction, participation and enthusiasm. We strive to keep residents happy and to maximize their full potential to ensure they lead a full life while living here.
